Cormack Public Library was founded in 1967 when "a meeting of the general public was called to form a Board for the Centennial Library to be built in conjunction with the Community Council Office". The meeting was held on February 10, 1967 and the Library opened its doors to the public on December 2, 1967.
It became a Community Access Centre in 1999.
