Municipal Regulations

Snow Clearing

The town's Snow clearing regulations are in effect from December 1 to April 30. Please read and note the following provisions:

No person shall from December 1 to April 30th park a vehicle unattended along any highway or street:

(a) within the community between the hours of 1:00am and 9:00am in a manner designated;

(b) during or for the twelve hours immediately following a snow storm or for such other period as may be declared by Council, to enable cleanup, after a severe snowstorm or snowfall;

(c) within 3 metres of the paved portion of the highway; or

(d) where the highway is not paved, within 3 metres of the edge of the ordinarily traveled surface of the highway.

ALSO: No person shall deposit or permit to be deposited any snow and/or ice from driveways, sidewalks, parking lots or any other property, under their ownership or control, onto any highway or street reservation within the municipality. Snow pushed out onto the highway and roads creates hazardous conditions - the town will follow up on reports of anyone pushing snow onto a public road or highway and where necessary will take action.

Residents are encouraged to read the Snow clearing Regulations in their entirety. Copies are available at the council office.
