Special Council Meeting

March 20, 2010

Minutes of a Special Meeting of the council of the Town of Cormack, held in the Community Centre, March 20, 2010 at 1:00pm.

Absent with Regret: Town Clerk Manager Cynthia Fry

Meeting called to order by the Mayor.

The purpose of the meeting was to review some outstanding issues from the previous Regular Meeting.

Resolution SM Dec 2110-05 Rideout/ Alexander 5 for, 0 opposed, carried

Resolved to accept a sworn affidavit for omission of poll tax when in conflict with property tax. This to include conflicts in ownership of property and rent to own agreements. This does have several stipulations:

• No arrears of taxes; paid in full by March 31 of tax year

• Default of this agreement makes it null and void

• Default reverts this back to original responsibility of taxes concerning all parties including any arrears.

• This is a one time agreement. If defaulted it will not be considered a second time.

Resolution SM Mar2010-06 O’Leary / Alexander 5 For, 0 Opposed, Carried

Moved that the Municipal Plan and Development Regulations be amended to include the following changes:

• Changes to the zoning regulations of the Rural Mixed Zone to include personal care and mercantile as discretionary

• Change to the Rural Mixed Zone to allow the severance of .5 ha to allow for commercial use.

• Change to remove “associated with agriculture and forestry” in the Rural Mixed Zone in association with General Industry.

Resolution SM Mar 2010-07 Rideout J./ Hiscock 5 For, 0 Opposed, carried

Resolved to forgive interest on arrears for accounts paid in full including current tax year. This is a one time forgiveness

Resolution SM Mar 2010-08 Rideout J./ Alexander 5 For, 0 Opposed, carried

Resolved to adjourn meeting at 2:45 p.m.
